The object dropped in the rotary table of the oil rig
This video showed that the crew failed to recognise the dropped object issue. The object was accidentally dropped into the rotary table. This will cause a lot of time and money to fish it out of hole. It may end up with side tracking the well if the fish cannot be recovered from the wellbore.
We need to ensure that the team must work carefully while working on the rotary table.

A brand-new drilling rig, worth 500 million dollar, has to go from South Korea to Europe. The problem: It is too gigantic for a heavy transport vessel. The solution: it’s being towed. By one single tug. It’s a true Mega Transport, halfway around the globe – all that in just 90 days.

Offshore oil rigs, floating cities in the middle of the ocean, never sleeping cities towering above passing ships, working silently 24 hours non-stop for 7 days, carrying out their tasks far away from the nearest shore.
Billions of barrels of oil and gas are produced in these oil refineries and gas wells to meet the energy demands of the world's population.
The oil industry is the center of the world's economy, and even a slight change in crude oil prices can have a significant impact on all countries.
But have you ever wondered about the lifestyle and daily routine of the people who live and work on offshore oil rigs?
While you may have heard that life on these amazing floating platforms is fascinating, there are several things you might not know.
First of all, it's important to note that life on an oil rig is not luxurious. In fact, it's a place where people's lives are at stake every day they work.
Although this may sound a bit exaggerated, the truth is that life and work on offshore oil rigs are both extremely challenging and unsafe.

An drilling rig is towed around the world by a single tug.
The Mega Transport starts in Ulsan, South Korea. West Bollsta was built here for 6 years – and is now ready to get to its operation site. But how should this beast be delivered? It’s 123 meters long and 76 meters wide. Its maximum drilling depth: incredible 12 kilometers! Way to bulky to be transported in a common way. Surprisingly, a rather small kind of boat is best for the job: the ALP Striker – one of the strongest ocean tugs in the world.
The ALP Striker will pull the drilling rig across the oceans on arm-thick steel cables. They are so heavy that only the ship's own crane can move them. Connecting tug and rig alone takes a whole day.
Once the drilling rig is towed to the tug, they’re embarking on a journey never before seen: around the cape of good hope. Navigation, pirates, wind and waves – there are many unpredictable challenges along the way. Once they have managed them all, the destination is in sight: the Canary islands.

Roustabouts generally work for drilling contractor companies. The roustabouts on Jack Up rigs are in demand to clean tools, equipment, including drills and pumps and machinery and keep work areas clean and orderly. They use crane lifts, forklift and winches to clear the deck and to load, unload and stack equipment and materials.
Other duties include moving supplies from town and equipment to the worksite and assembling, repairing and dismantling equipment and machinery, including pipes, casing, mixing mud with Pumpman, assist deck pusher and crane operator. Roustabouts must be strong, physically fit and outdoorsy to work in all weather conditions.
Other tasks included in a roustabout job description include working with crane and forklift operators. Roustabouts guide the crane operators and attach lifting slings to the loads. They also mix drilling mud, which is used to lubricate the drill bit that bores into the ground. Roustabouts who work on offshore oil rigs also must maintain the rig by cleaning, chipping and painting the deck, equipment and work areas.
When asked, roustabouts assist other crew members in drill operations. They normally assist in running Casing and make up drill pipe by sending the casing and drill pipes to drill floor. They also conduct inspections on firefighting equipment & Life Saving Appliances. They repair leaks in the accommodation and repairing pipes, and they clean up spilled oil to avoid soil and water contamination. Roustabouts also dig drainage ditches around wells and storage tanks to keep oil from flowing freely during a major spill.
They are the fire fighter on the rig for any emergency and assist on-scene commander to fight the fire. Off duty roustabout will assist the Fire Team No.2 team leader. They may be promoted to Roughneck, Deck Pusher or Crane Operator in the future.
